Take Route 8 North towards Massachusetts. Follow the scenic and winding road until nearing Pittsfield. Stop in at Teo's and have fabulous hot dogs. Head back on Route 8 north until you reach Adams, MA. Here you want to take a detour to the top of Mount Greylock. It's a 7 mile very scenic ride to the top and the scenary and view are spectacular. Stretch your legs and walk around the monument, and marvel at the portapotties that have to be anchored to the ground due to high winds. Head back to Route 8 north and cross the border into Vermont. At the intersection of Route 8 and 9, turn right, or east, onto Route 9. When you reach the town of Wilmington, stop in at the 1836 Country Store and buy a few snacks and souveniers in this lovely country store. Turn onto Route 100 north, one of the most scenic rides in Vermont year round, but especially in the Fall. Stop by one of the covered bridges near Jamaica and enjoy your Vermont cheese and crackers.
